Priming
What does a primer do?
A primer helps the new coat go on easier, look better and
last longer. It ensures a more uniform look.
As
a general rule, any previously unpainted or unstained surface
should be primed. Also, if the surface is very porous, or is uneven
in porosity, a primer is recommended. You may even want to use
a primer over a sound panted surface to ensure better adhesion
and uniformity of the new coat.

5. Painting
When doing exterior or interior painting, one of the most
important decisions is the quality of paint to be used. According
to the Paint Quality Institute, a leading authority on paint
performance, TOP QUALITY paints are designed to produce the
best-looking and longest-lasting results. And even though
quality paints may cost a little more, they can last more
than twice as long as ordinary paints — so they are
really more economical in the long run. Specific
benefits of using top quality paints, compared with using
an “economy” paint.
